Privacy notice

This explains what personal information Aselta Limited holds, where it comes from, and what you can ask me to do about it. It is written for the most likely reason you are reading it: you received an email from me and want to know how I got your details.
Who is responsible
Aselta Limited is the data controller. The company is registered in England and Wales, company number 17449239, registered office 25 Bellair Road, Havant, Hampshire, PO9 2RG. I am the sole director and the person who handles all of this personally.

What I hold
For business contacts, typically only:
- Your name
- Your employer and job role
- Your business email address, and a business telephone number where one is published
- Notes of any correspondence or conversation we have
I do not hold financial information, personal addresses, or anything of a sensitive category about business contacts.
Where it came from
If you did not give me your details directly, I will have found them in one of these places:
- Your employer's website
- Published registers and company filings
- Industry press and published material
- An introduction from someone we both know
I do not buy contact lists from data brokers. If you want to know the specific source for your own record, ask and I will tell you.
Why I use it, and on what basis
I contact finance leaders at companies in particular sectors to ask how they handle covenant compliance, lender reporting and debt accounting, and to understand whether the software I am building would be useful. That is the only purpose.
My lawful basis is legitimate interests — specifically, the interest in developing a product by talking to the people who would use it, and in offering it to organisations likely to want it. I have assessed this against your interests and rights and concluded it is proportionate: the contact is business-to-business, at your work address, in a professional capacity, low in volume, and easy to stop. That assessment is written down and I will share it if you ask.
How long I keep it
Contact records are deleted 24 months after our last meaningful contact. If you never reply, that is 24 months from when I first contacted you.
If you would rather I did not contact you
Reply and say so, or email privacy@aselta.co.uk. You do not need to give a reason, and the right to object to direct marketing is absolute — I have to stop.
When you object, I delete your contact record and keep only your email address and the date of your request, on a suppression list. That list exists solely so that I do not contact you again by accident, it is never used for anything else, and it is kept for as long as the company operates. Deleting it entirely would leave me unable to honour your request.
Who else sees it
Microsoft, as the provider of the email and file storage I use, processes this information on my behalf under its standard data protection terms. Nobody else. I do not sell, rent or share personal information, and there is no advertising or profiling of any kind.
If that ever changes — for example if I start using a customer relationship management system — this notice will be updated before any personal data is put into it.
Where it is processed
Microsoft may process some information outside the United Kingdom as part of providing its services. Where that happens, it is covered by the safeguards in Microsoft's data protection terms, which incorporate the transfer mechanisms recognised under UK data protection law.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- Tell you what I hold about you, and give you a copy
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Stop using it, or restrict how I use it
- Object to my using it at all — for direct marketing, this is absolute

Cookies
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or third-party scripts. The typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font network, so nothing about your visit reaches a third party.
If you are not happy
Tell me first if you are willing to — it is quicker. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this notice changes materially, the date at the top changes with it.
